Feeling God's Presence

When we worship actively, we come to know God’s love and feel God’s blessings in our daily lives. St. James’ encourages all children and youth to deepen their understanding of our common worship by participating in the 9:10 a.m. Sunday service.

Leadership Opportunities
  • Kids 4+ are encouraged to sing in the choirs
  • Children 3rd grade and above are invited to serve as acolytes.  If you would like to acolyte this year, come to one of two training sessions: Saturdays, Sept. 11 or 18, 10:00-11:30 a. m. Those trained on Sept. 11 will acolyte on Sept. 12; those trained on Sept. 18 will acolyte on Sept. 19. Can’t come to either? Contact Vicki
  • 4th graders lead the Decalogue during Advent and Lent
  • Kids 5th grade and above are invited to read the Lesson
  • Children and youth in 6th grade and above lead the Prayers of the People
  • Youth in 8th grade and above serve as ushers
  • Youth in the grades 11 – 12 who have demonstrated leadership and commitment to St. James’ are offered the chance to serve as Chalice Bearers
