Women’s Retreat

April 17-19, 2026

Spend time in fellowship and prayer with other women from our parish at the beautiful Community of St. John Baptist in Mendham, NJ, a religious order for women in the Episcopal church.

Dates: The retreat will go from Friday evening, April 17, through Sunday afternoon, April 19. Please arrive after 5:00 p.m. on April 17 (we will gather at 6:00 p.m.). On Sunday the 19th, we will head home after Holy Eucharist and lunch together.

Cost: The cost is $300 per person (due at the time you sign up; visit this link to complete payment) and includes all meals—dinner Friday to lunch on Sunday.

Sleeping arrangements: Each attendee will have a single room. The bathrooms are detached from the room and shared by all, but are single restrooms.

Transportation: St. James’ is NOT providing round-trip transportation to this retreat. Please take NJ Transit from Penn Station to Morristown (the darker green “Morris & Essex,” or “M&E” train line). The retreat center is then a 10-minute taxi or Uber ride from the Morristown train station. You may also organize a car pool—contact the Rev. Marisa Sifontes if you are willing to drive others.

Camino de Santiago de Compostela

May 27-June 3, 2026

All ages are invited to join the St. Jamesians (20s & 30s) on the Way of St. James in Spain!

Spend 7 days in beautiful Northwest Spain and join thousands of pilgrims from around the world, walking the Way of St. James—el Camino de Santiago de Compostela.

The Camino has existed as a Christian pilgrimage for well over 1,000 years. We’ll meet in Sarria, Spain on the evening of Wednesday, May 27, and will spend six days hiking the final 72 miles of the iconic journey, culminating in Santiago de Compostela on June 2. We’ll conclude our trip with a tour of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela on June 3.

Led by our own Calvin Bushman, this “self-guided” pilgrimage is open to all ages, but is targeted towards the St. Jamesians (those in their 20s and 30s).  St. James’ Church will return with a “pampered” pilgrim trip in May of 2027.

For most Christians, the Camino is a walking retreat and a chance to “unplug.” Learn to pay attention to God’s Spirit speaking through nature, fellow pilgrim stories, and by walking for several hours each day through historic villages and rural countrysides.  The pilgrimage ends at the Cathedral in Compostela, Spain, where St. James the Apostle is buried, according to tradition.

Dates: May 27 through June 2, 2026

Cost: $1300* per person with double or triple occupancy.  (*Price assumes exchange rate stays at or below $1.20 for 1 Euro; there may be an incidental up-charge if exchange rates vary widely beyond that amount.)  Single rooms available for $475 additional charge. Payment in full due March 26, 2026.

Reserve Your Spot: $200/person deposit is due upon registration. Pilgrimages tend to sell out, and space is limited to 14 persons.

What’s included: 6 nights of 2-star hotel stays with double or triple occupancy, breakfast each morning, luggage transport, and guidebook for each day of hiking, with local recommendations for food and restroom breaks.

What’s not included: Airfare to Spain; ground transportation to Sarria from airport; meals after breakfast. After initial orientation meeting with local guide, the pilgrimage is “self-guided.”
