St. James' Church

A 7-week reflection on the Christian life at St. James'

Early Christians were called “people of the way.” The Way at St. James' is a seven-week, small-group exploration of the Baptismal Covenant and the way we seek to live it out at St. James'. What might Christian faith in general, and St. James' Church in particular, mean to you? And what might you mean to St. James'? The conversation, which is facilitated by two parishioners and one of our priests, begins with the experiences and faith perspectives of the participants.
The Way is especially for newcomers, but not only for newcomers! Anyone with questions about church, faith, or the ministries of St. James' is encouraged to participate. Wherever you are in your faith journey, The Way is a rich opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers at St. James', including seekers, committed lay leaders, and clergy, and to learn about the ministries we share.

The Way I explores the basic practices of Christian life and how our clergy and leaders live them in their lives. It can be helpful for those considering baptism for themselves or their children, or for anyone seeking to reconnect with his or her baptism.

Who should come to The Way?
The Way at St. James' is for newcomers and longtime parishioners, seekers and believers, Christians and agnostics. In short, it's for everyone. If you're interested in exploring Christianity, faith, and church—and what they might have to do with you—you'll find in The Way at St. James' a small, informal group that honors questions and convictions alike. The Way is meant to help you on your own Way in faith, whether or not the next step takes you more deeply into the life and ministry of St. James'. The Way also provides a rich opportunity to form and deepen friendships with fellow participants, lay leaders, and St. James' clergy.
