Prison Ministry Advocacy
This ministry seeks to raise public awareness on issues related to the criminal justice system. One of its recent activities focused on ending the use of capital punishment in the United States. St. James’ participates in the For Whom the Bells Toll campaign to end capital punishment by tolling the church bells on the day of an execution.

Mission Trips
Youth take one or two mission trips a year. Recent trips have included visiting Boston to participate in soup kitchens and in projects helping the homeless; Washington, D. C., where they painted a hospital chapel, and New Orleans, LA, where they distributed emergency supplies, cleaned storm drains and gutted a house.
    The St. Jamesians have traveled to New Orleans to assist in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts.
   Other parishioners have also assisted in hurricane relief efforts in Mississippi.
