Share the Joy

Joy Comes in All Sizes. share the joy

St. James' annual Share the Joy gift drive benefits children involved in the Osborne Association, which serves children of incarcerated parents. Imagine having a parent you cannot see or talk to regularly, who cannot help you with school work or discuss important decisions in your life. That is the reality for more than two percent of our nation's children. A total of 1.2 million children suffer grief and loneliness as a result of their parent's incarceration.

Since 2006, St. James' Church has worked with Partners in Mission-Children to transform the lives of these children. St. James' volunteers tutor the children, provide SAT preparation, accompany them on visits to see their parents in prison, and join them for monthly field trips and activities. St. James' volunteers have been touched by the children's resilience, courage, and joy, and have been transformed themselves.

The children who benefit from Share the Joy are of all ages; many are teenagers. Please bring new, unwrapped gifts to the church on or before Tuesday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. You may also contribute to the Osborne Association online through St. James' or make checks payable to St. James' Church. You will help transform a life and help a child have a wonderful Christmas Day.
