Parish Life at St. James'

Founded in 1989, the Parish Life Committee aims to welcome newcomers into the parish and bring the congregation together through fellowship. To nurture a sense of community, it sponsors a variety of events and programs throughout the year, including Homecoming, the Fall Parish Dinner, the Advent Wreath Workshop, the Greening of the Church, the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, the Maundy Thursday Agape Dinner and the Community Festival in May.

None of these special occasions would happen without a wonderful group of helpers. Volunteering at St. James' is a great way to meet people, make new friends, and to become involved. Newcomers are particularly encouraged to join in. If you can "slice and dice", toss a pancake, bake a batch of cookies, make a sandwich, fold a pretty napkin, set a table, arrange a bowl of flowers, sell tickets, blow up a balloon, pour a drink, wait on tables, clean up the kitchen, clean out a closet, sew a pillow, use a computer, make telephone calls, meet and greet, stuff envelopes, or glue on glitter, then we have just the job for you!
