Upcoming Events for St. Jamesians
Below are events especially for parishioners in their 20s and 30s. Friends and newcomers are always welcome - hope to see you there!
Brunch Third Sundays, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
Every third Sunday of the month, parishioners in their 20s and 30s have brunch together at a neighborhood restaurant. No reservations required, just meet at coffee hour following the 11:15 a.m. service. This is a great way to meet the group for the first time, or to catch up with old friends. Winter/Spring dates: 1/20, 2/17, 3/16 (Palm Sunday), 4/20.
Lenten One-Week Food Stamp Fast
Friday, March 14 - Thursday, March 20
This Lent, parishioners in their 20s and 30s will walk in the shoes of more than a million New Yorkers who currently depend on food stamps. The average food budget for a food stamp recipient in New York is $113 a month for an individual and $200 for a family. This is less than $4.00 per person, per day. As a group, we will stick to this budget for one week. We will begin with a group shopping trip, meet for a mid-week group dinner, and break the fast at St. James’ Agape Supper on Maundy Thursday.
See you in church…
St. James’ Sunday Services: 8:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 6:00 p.m.; Holy Week and Easter services here.
