9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The Nursery is open for ages 0-2. The same three caregivers are there to greet and love your little ones every week.
9:05 - 11:00 a.m. Toddler Class (2-3 year olds)
Primary Class (4-6 year olds)
One part of the Toddler and Primary experience is their chapel service each week, led by one of the clergy.
The Primary Class students attend worship with their parents on the first Sunday of each month. On other Sundays, the Primary class is organized around Gather Time, the Toddler-Primary chapel service, Music, Snack, Lesson and Crafts, and Closing. The Holy Eucharist is offered on the fourth Sunday of the month.
9:10 a.m. Children first grade and older go to worship with their families. All children are welcome at the service. Our clergy love having children in worship. If you find that your child is disturbing you, you are welcome to go out to Sunderland Hall for a few minutes where you will still be able to hear the service.
10:15-11:05 a.m. Church School is offered for children in first grade and older. We are blessed with a teaching staff with countless years of experience.
We use the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum which is lectionary-, arts- and worship based.
Worship Children in 1st grade and older worship with their parents each week. The 9:10 a.m. service especially welcomes children and families and offers several opportunities for children and youth to participate actively. Each Sunday, children in grades 3 through 12 serve as acolytes; those in grades 5 and higher serve as lay readers; 8th through 12th graders serve as ushers; and 7th through 12th graders lead the prayers.
The first Sunday of each month is the Children’s Eucharist: individual classes lead the prayers and the children’s choirs sing. Children in the Primary Class also attend this service with their families. We collect the First Sunday Food Offering for the benefit of the Yorkville Common Pantry.
For young children attending the service, worship packets are always available at the rear of the church and focus on teaching the Gospel lesson of the day.
