St. James' Youth

Youth Ministries encompasses a number of social and service opportunities for those in 7th-12th grades. Friends are always welcome!

We encourage 7th-12th graders to find ways of making the church their own. We want our teenagers to know that they belong to the church and that the church belongs to them. Church School classes and Youth Group meet every Sunday from 10:15 until 11:00 a.m. Youth usher, acolyte, sing and read at every 9:10 a.m. service. Special opportunities abound for both traditional and creative involvement in St. James’.

If you have been at St. James’ forever, come to old favorites and perhaps try something new! If you are a newcomer, we cannot wait to meet you!

Two new series will run in youth group this year. The first celebrates our upcoming Bicentennial.  Each month, we’ll take an event from St. James’ 200-year history and use it as a springboard to discuss ways in which the church has been, and continues to be, in conversation with the world around it. A more detailed syllabus appears below.

The second series, “My Favorite Bible Story,” harks back to our younger school days. Guest speakers will share their favorite Bible story and explain how the story shapes their faith. Milk and cookies will be served.
